The project aims to develop a green city covering 500,000,000 m2, envisioned as a sustainable and technologically advanced city that depends on clean energy, modern public transport, and strong digital infrastructure. The 1st phase includes major projects such as an international exhibitions and conferences center, an integrated sports city that will feature an international football stadium, an Olympic city, Olympic-standard indoor arenas, a car-racing track, an environmental park, and an entertainment city. Additional components include commercial and service zones, an educational city, a technology hub focused on investment in the education sector and expanded cultural facilities such as an extension of the Royal Automobile Museum.

Developed in 2015 with funding from the Youth and Sports Movement Support Fund and supervised by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing through its Aqaba Directorate, the hotel commenced operations in 2017. Its construction cost is estimated at USD 11 to 14 million excluding the value of the land. The hotel has been closed since 2020 following the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Its current status presents an opportunity for investors to restore, enhance and reposition a well-located hospitality asset that benefits from established infrastructure and proximity to key attractions.
